An outrageously awesome Mid-Century rattlesnake cuff bracelet signed Rancho Alegre. This superb Mexican cuff is hand-wrought in sterling silver: it's heavy, wide, and very dramatic. Four applied rattlesnakes writhe around a central wind rose embossment, rendered in a pre-Columbian style. The snakes have wonderful faces with long fangs that belie their rather sweet expressions. As the serpents twine together you can almost hear their rattles rattling. This collectible piece is stamped "Rancho Alegre Sterling Mexico 1005." Circa 1950.

Plateria Rancho Alegre was opened in 1956 by Pedro Pérez. Pérez had been a shop manager for William Spratling before establishing Rancho Alegre. Miguel Garcia Martinez was Rancho Alegre's primary designer, and the shop carried work from many designers and silversmiths.

How can you tell if a cuff bracelet is your size? Measure the top of your wrist from side to side and compare it with the inside measurement of the cuff. If this bracelet does not fit easily on your wrist, it is not your size. Please do not bend or force the cuff; either the cuff or your wrist may be damaged. We will not return or exchange a bent or damaged cuff.

Details.....The front of the cuff measures 2.13" and tapers to 1.25" at the terminals. The inside measures 2.25" across. This piece weighs 3.86 oz. In Very Good Vintage Condition. All vintage items will show some wear; it is considered part of their charm.
