A gorgeous brown stone Scarab is set in a simple gold bezel and secured by a gold pin through its center. The Scarab is beautifully detailed, with another Scarab on its obverse side. There are some similar pieces from the 18th dynasty. The Scarab is antique, and the setting dates from the 1890s. The gold is 14k fineness.

The scarabs are often older than the jewels they are set in. The scarab has special meaning in Egyptian lore, where it was believed that the beetle rolled the sun across the sky.

Details.....The scarab measures .51" x .33", including the frame. The pin measures 2.85" long. In Excellent Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
