Wine dark garnets smolder in this elaborately worked Victorian Revival brooch. The sultry center stone sits in a many-pronged setting, flanked by two smaller round garnets within the ornate oblong 14k gold brooch. This brooch is Revival squared: it's a Mid-Century revival of the Victorian revival of ancient Etruscan gold work. Inspired by the exquisite beading, wirework, and granulation the Etruscan goldsmiths were renowned for. Circa 1940.
Details.....The brooch measures 1.59" by 0.55". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
