The sweetest Victorian bracelet, most likely a Mother's token of love for her children. The bracelet is an oval tube of sterling silver, hinged for ease of wear. Five silver disc charms dangle from the bracelet, they are beautifully engraved and enameled with four names and the sentiment "Mizpah". "Lizzie", "Bessie", "Mamie", and "Louie" are enameled in blue, "Mizpah" is enameled in red. The back of the "Mizpah" charm is engraved with the date "Sept. 6th 1883". The hinge and clasp are in good working order. A sentimental memento from an era that venerated Motherhood, Family, and the Home.

The "Mizpah" motif was popular during the sentimental Victorian period. "Mizpah" is a Hebrew word that means "watchtower", and is loosely interpreted to mean "May God watch over you". The sentiment has come to represent the loving bond between people, a symbol of connection even though they may be physically apart.

Details.....The bracelet's exterior measures 2.61" by 2.17", and the interior measures 2.39" across. Each charm is 18.4mm in diameter. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
