A 19th-century Chinese silver ram pendant. The repoussé animal is a stout little creature with a pleasant face, curling horns, and shaggy fur wearing a saddle or riding blanket. The antique pendant hangs on a modern sterling silver shot bead necklace. Circa 1880.
The ram is the eighth animal in the Chinese zodiac; it symbolizes peace, prosperity, and gentleness. People born in the Year of the Ram are described as sincere, gentle, and creative.
Details: The chain is 20" long, the pendant measures 1.44" by 1.65". In Very Good Antique Condition. Small imperfections are to be expected and are considered part of the charm.
