Adorable Pods Sterling Silver Brooch & Earring Set

This adorable brooch and earrings set in the form of...seed pods, maybe? The Mexican sterling silver set has an extremely appealing Mid Century Modern design. Three little seeds on a bed of oxidized silver peak out from curvaceous pods of highly polished silver. Iridescent patina highlights the beauty of the metal work. The earrings are screw back, easy to wear whether or not your ears are pierced. Each piece is marked "Sterling 925 Taxco," signed "RVQ," stamped with the Eagle 3 for sterling silver and "Broche Alpaca," meaning the screw backs and brooch pin are made of a silver-free alloy. Circa 1950.

This set dates from the 1940s, a high point in silver jewelry design in Mexico. The Mexican city of Taxco drew jewelry artists from all over the world.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.05" by 1.59", and the earrings are 0.69" by 0.97". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
