This moody Georgian diamond ring glitters with an eerie light. A cluster of rose cut diamonds, a larger diamond is haloed by eleven smaller diamonds, is set in the delicate 12k gold ring. The stones sit over a pierced, closed-back gallery; the diamonds are foiled, as was the fashion in the 18th Century. The foil has darkened over the centuries giving the gems an uncanny appearance. Decorative shoulders are pierced with a graceful foliate design that tapers into a dainty band. This ring is as delicate as it is beautiful, and should be worn with care. Circa 1810.

Please note that you Do Not want to get foiled closed-back gems wet, it will darken the stones. While these stones appear to have already darkened, we still recommend avoiding moisture.

Details.....Currently a size 6.5. The top of the ring measures 11.5mm in diameter, and the band is 1.5mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
