Ethereal Opal in Platinum & 15ct Gold Ring

This heavenly opal wears a halo of gold, platinum and diamonds. The elongated oval opal has brilliant fire and displays the full spectrum of colors; it sits in an engraved gold bezel. Four bright old European cut diamonds wink from platinum bezels, placed at the opal's cardinal points within a floating platinum frame. The gem-set platinum is layered over a low-profile, 15ct gold gallery. Slim split shoulders of platinum on gold complete the ethereal piece. Circa 1900.

This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $5800.

Gem Details... The 4.35ct oval cabochon opal is free of fractures, with full spectrum of colors, high color intensity, and Flashfire fire pattern. Four old European cut diamonds have a .18tcw, with SI1-2 clarity and I-J color.

Details.....Currently a size 7. The top of the ring measures 18mm by 25.5mm, and the band is 1mm wide. In Very Good Antique Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of the charm.
