Hector Aguilar was a Mexican silversmith who began his career at age 30, working as William Spratling's shop manager. In 1939, after three years of apprenticeship, Aguilar opened his own workshop, Taller Borda. This became one of the premier tallers in Taxco, prospering until its closure in 1986.
