Kintsugi Inspired Turquoise & Gold Earrings by 720

These wonderful artisan earrings are inspired by kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with precious metals. Kintsugi finds beauty in the imperfect, appreciating an object's history and transforming damage into art. Here, rectangles of pastel blue turquoise are set in simple 14k gold bezels. One of the stones has been broken into three pieces, then repaired with 24k gold. The asymmetry creates a fascinating aesthetic tension. These unique earrings sit stationary on hand pulled French ear wires.

A hoard of American turquoise has inspired our new collection of handcrafted jewels. Each vintage stones is unique: they vary in color from blue to green, some have interesting matrix while some are so clear as to seem otherworldly. Each setting was fabricated in-house, using recycled gold.
