A lovely little pendant of Mexican sterling silver inlaid with malachite. The pendant is a softened rectangle, with rounded edges and a small integrated bale. A second, larger bale suspends the piece from a sterling silver paperclip chain. The malachite is flush set in the silver, very smooth and appealing to the touch. There is nothing quite like malachite, with its gorgeous swirling striations of every imaginable shade of green. Marked on the back "925 Mexico TS-102." Circa 1980.
The "TS-102" mark indicates this piece was made in the Mexican city of Taxco, by the 102nd silversmith to register their mark at the Taxco assay office with a name beginning with the letter "S." This alphanumeric hallmarking system was instituted in 1979.
Details.....The chain is 18" long, the pendant measures .73" by 1.11" long, 1.50" with bale. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should expect some wear on all vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
