This gorgeous Art Deco watch was made by Movado. The platinum watch case is exquisitely engraved with triangle shapes delineated by milgrain engraving. Old European and single cut diamonds encrust the case. The case is flanked by rectangular panels, hinged and set with marquise diamonds that sparkle within a frame of French cut lab sapphires. The octagonal face is painted prettily with Arabic numerals and the 15 jeweled movement is in good working order. The watch's black silk cord strap has 18k white gold findings. Circa 1920.
Movado was founded in 1881 in Switzerland by Achille Ditesheim. Movado means "always in motion" in Esperanto. The company is renown for its minimalist, high-quality designs.
This watch comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal. The appraisal is done by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $5000.
