This Navajo necklace features a strand of brown Heishi shell beads studded with sterling silver beads. The silver beads have a traditional two-part construction. They contrast with the dark, glossy Heishi beads beautifully. The beads are strung on wire and finished with a classic hook and eye clasp. Circa 1960.
Heishi are small disc or tube-shaped beads made of shells or stones. They originate with the Kewa Pueblo people of New Mexico.
Details.....The necklace is 16" long. The beads graduate from 4.7mm to 6.1mm in diameter. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
