This dramatic Retro fur clip from Boucher recalls a reimagined sea shell. The shell is scalloped sterling silver gilt, half-framed in bright red princess-cut rhinestones. A wave of white rhinestones curls over its top. A large red stone smolders at the clip's heart and small white rhinestones accent. A fur clip is a brooch that fastens with two long, hinged prongs. The sturdy prongs are intended for wear on furs but will work well on any heavy fabric; this is the perfect accent for a winter coat. This collectible piece is signed with the coveted MB mark for Marcel Boucher and the design number 2309. Circa 1940.

Marcel Boucher was one of the 20th Century's finest costume jewelry makers. Born in Paris in 1898. After the end of World War I, he apprenticed at Cartier. He transferred to New York City in the 1920s, where he became fascinated with costume jewelry's endless possibilities. Boucher's pieces were famed for looking real and following the fashions of the day.

Details: The brooch measures 2.15" by 2.08". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage jewels; we consider it a part of their charm.
