This sinuous Mexican choker of 950 grade silver and turquoise doublets recalls a snake's spinal column, if that snake was built by a mad roboticist. Supple silver links form a close-fitting collar; turquoise doublets of pure robin's egg blue shot through with delicate black matrix stud the links. A sophisticated piece informed by both industrial and organic forms. Sexy, and slightly scary. The back of the slide clasp is marked "TM-283 Mexico 950." Circa 1970.
A doublet is a composite gemstone consisting of two pieces of the same or different gem materials, or one of gem material and a second of glass. The pieces are layered to improve the appearance of the gem.
Details.....The necklace measures 15.5" long and .87" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should expect some wear on all vintage and antique jewels; we consider it part of their charm.
