Sterling & Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Stud Earrings

These sterling silver and Sleeping Beauty turquoise earrings are like an abstraction of traditional Southwestern conchos. The earrings are asymmetric sterling silver discs engraved with a petal-like design. Superb turquoise gems nestle in crisp sawtooth bezels, offset at the earrings' base. These are post earrings with tension backs. The backs are marked "Sterling." Sleeping Beauty turquoise is noted for its solid, light blue color with no matrix. Circa 1980.

Conchos are metal disks traditionally used with Western horseback riding saddles. Usually made with two slits to allow saddle strings to pass through the concho securing the saddle's skirts to the saddle tree.

Details: These earrings measure .99" by 1.38". In Very Good Vintage Condition. As with all vintage jewelry, wear should be expected in keeping with their age. We consider it to be part of their charm.
