20" Graduated Pearl Necklace with Gold Clasp

Subtly graduated matinee length pearls with an elegant gold clasp. These cultured pearls are a glowing creamy white, hand knotted on white silk. The 14k yellow gold ball clasp has a safety catch inside. This strand of pearls is just the right length to wear alone or layered with other necklaces. A strand of pearls is a wardrobe essential. Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
