A rich orangey-red ancient Roman carnelian bead is the centerpiece of this artisan necklace. The carnelian bead is strung upon silk along side heavy 980 grade silver beads, creating wonderful organic textures. The necklace is finished with a decorative silver clasp. The carnelian bead is 1500 years old, with a smooth time-worn surface. There is something lovely about wearing something so ancient.
