"Bloody" Mercury Bloodstone Cameo Charm
Mercury is the god of commerce, communication, divination, travelers, luck, and trickery. This bloodstone cameo represents Mercury wearing his signature winged helm. Perhaps he perpetrated trickery on the wrong character because the bloodstone's "blood" appears to be flowing freely from his patrician nose. The distinctive carving is displayed in a frame of twisted gold-filled metal, finished with a jump ring bale. Circa 1910.
Details.....The charm measures .80" by .89", 1.20" with the ring. In Very Good Antique Condition. Imperfections are to be expected in antique jewelry; it is considered part of its charm.
