Chic Modernist Sterling Silver & Carnelian Ring
This chic Modernist sterling silver and carnelian ring reminds us of a stylized buckle band. A squoval plaque of fiery carnelian is bezel set in the raised top of the ring. A band of silver wraps around the gem-set element, like a belt buckle. A wide band completes the sophisticated look. This ring bears an ambiguous maker's mark; it certainly has the style of a studio piece. Circa 1970.
