At the turn of the 20th Century Chinese design was very fashionable. Women adorned themselves in jewelry from China and carved gemstones in traditional designs were very popular. This exquisite Chinese brooch is made of bone carved into leaves and vines. The 3-dimensional carving is set in a sterling silver frame that is secured with a trombone clasp. This brooch is both beautiful and lightweight. Circa 1900.
