Choker of Graduated Pearls with Flower Clasp

An especially lovely choker of lustrous cultured pearls, finished with a charming decorative clasp. The creamy graduated pearls are hand knotted on white silk. The sweet slide clasp is a cluster of pearls set in 14k white gold, like a fresh daisy. A safety chain adds additional security. Timeless, with elevated details that set this classic strand of pearls apart. Circa 1960.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
