Creamy Walrus Tusk Bead Necklace
Walrus tusk has been carved into pretty egg-shaped beads. The graduated beads are hand knotted on white silk. The natural tusk beads have a subtle variation in their creamy colors and patterns. The necklace is finished with a vintage screw clasp that has an interesting industrial feel. Circa 1920.
The Alaskan gold rush unearthed a great deal of petrified mammoth and walrus tusk. We often see these fascinating materials used in jewelry dating to the turn of the 20th Century.
Details.....Necklace is 24" long. The largest bead measures 12.5mm, the smallest is 8.1mm. In Very Good Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on your antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
