Dreamy Deco Amethyst Ring with Marcasites

Scalloped tiers of glistening marcasites frame a lilac-colored amethyst in this picturesque Art Deco cocktail ring. The amethyst is lovely. An elongated faceted oval with a dreamy "Through the Looking Glass" quality. The gem is bezel set within a marcasite-studded dome of lacy openwork sterling silver. Fine details such as silver wirework and milgrain engraving refine the piece. The decorative top of the ring has a proud profile, standing over sculpted shoulders and a pierced gallery. A romantic, feminine piece with a statement-making size. Circa 1920.
