King Edward VII Gold Sovereign Pendant
A rare 1909 22k gold sovereign featuring King Edward VII and St. George and the Dragon is displayed in an 18k gold pendant frame. The obverse, or "heads," of the coin depicts King Edward VII in profile and the legend "EDWARDVS VII D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX F: D: IND: IMP:" around the edge. The reverse, or "tails," depicts St. George and the Dragon with the year "1909." It's a beautiful coin, the depiction of St. George on horseback slaying the Dragon is dynamic and exquisitely rendered. The pendant frame has a large bale, making it easy to wear the coin any way you like.
King Edward VII's reign, January 1901 to 6 May 1910, marks the era we know as "Edwardian."
