This endearing English solitaire diamond ring is an interesting riff on the classic Victorian belcher setting. The glittering 0.45ct old mine cushion cut diamond has lots of character and a chunky open culet. The gem is held in long, integrated prongs that rise from the ring's shoulders. The setting is glowing 18ct yellow gold that tapers smoothly back to a the band. Hallmarked for England, Birmingham and 18ct. The hallmark denoting the year has worn to illegibility. The band also bear the maker's mark "W.G.H." Circa 1890.

In the unique belcher style of setting the prongs that hold the stone are an integrated part of the ring. Popular in the late 1800s, this style offers a sleek, tapered design and a low profile.
