English Dart Board Sterling & Enamel Medal Fob
This English sterling silver medal depicts a very realistic dart board in red and black enamel. The dart board is framed in a wreath of laurel leaves. The back of the medal is engraved: ROSS CUP 1949 A. DADE. The back of the piece is hallmarked for Birmingham, sterling silver and the years 1947-48. It is also signed with a maker's mark for John Turton & Co. This sporty medal is colorful and fun. It will look great worn on one of our Ancient Influences married chains.
Mr. A. Dade was an avid darts player. We have been unable to identify the Ross Cup competition, but we do know that Dade was an area semi-finalist in the first national News of the World Championship darts competition in 1948 and was a Ostritch runner up in 1947. The medals commemorating those events are also available.
Details.....The pendant measures 1.12" by 1.32". In Very Good Vintage condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
