An Etruscan Revival shield brooch in delicate 800 silver gilt filigree. The archeology-inspired design of wirework, granulation and applied details is wonderfully ornate. A faceted garnet sits at its center in a raised sawtooth bezel. The piece secures with a safety clasp. Circa 1900.
