Exquisite Mid Century Sherman Crystal Brooch

An exquisite and highly collectable costume brooch signed by Sherman. Sherman was known for using the highest quality Swarovski crystals and he loved an aurora borealis finish; this piece displays his taste perfectly. Dazzling round and marquis cut crystals in an unusual color combination of iridescent blue and "peridot" green are prong set in a heavy, well-crafted rhodium-plated setting. This brooch is an extraordinarily beautiful example of Mid 20th Century costume jewelry. Circa 1950.

Gustave Sherman founded his Montreal manufacturing company in 1947. By the 1950s, Sherman Costume Jewelry was established as Canada’s foremost costume jeweler. His work appeared on runways in Paris and New York. Sherman, whose slogan was “made to last a lifetime,” demanded the highest level of quality in workmanship and material.
