Exquisite Picture Agate Georgian Pendant

An exquisite picture agate is the star of this wonderful Georgian pendant. The agate displays red, white and cream tones in a pattern that resembles a natural scene: clouds over mountains, or waves crashing on the shore. The stone is set in a sleek bezel of jewelers brass. The edges of the agate are beveled, a wonderful, subtle detail. A modern gold filled chain has been added by our jeweler. Agate jewelry was very popular during the Georgian era. This necklace is a lovely example of the style, and its elegant simplicity provides an interesting example of how antique jewelry has influenced modern jewelry design. Circa 1820.

Details.....Pendant measures 1.55" by 1.21". The adjustable chain measures from 16" to 18" long. In Very Good Antique condition.
