Exquisite Silver Gilt Filigree & Onyx Chinese Brooch
A glossy oval of cabochon cut onyx is framed in a wonderful filigree sterling silver gilt setting. The filigree is exquisitely lacy, beautiful on the back as well as the front. The pin is a secure safety clasp. The generous size of this brooch makes it ideal for wear on a coat or jacket. Circa 1920.
The Chinese Jewels from the early 20th Century are wonderfully made and highly collectible. During the 1920s Chinese design was all the rage in the West. Women adorned themselves in jewelry from China and carved gemstones in traditional designs were very popular.
