Georgian Man & Woman Cameos in Gold & Pearl Earrings

Highly personal Georgian earrings set with shell cameos depicting a man and a woman. One cameo is carved with the profile of a woman with pretty ringlets. The other is carved in the profile of a bearded man with a receding hairline. These tiny portraits are set in 14k gold backs and framed in a beaded halo set with tiny natural pearls. One of the convex earring backs is damaged. The cameos hang on 14k gold French ear wires. Surely, this represents a happily married couple who memorialized their wedded bliss in this pair of earrings. Circa 1740.

Details.....The earrings measure 1.08" long, and the cameos measure .49" by .69". In Good Antique Condition, with wear in keeping with their age. The back of one earring is damaged. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces; we consider it part of the charm.
