Hardstone Cameo in Rose Gold Brooch
This Victorian brooch features a hardstone cameo framed in the Aesthetic Movement style. The mellow old 14k rose gold frame is embellished with beading, rope work and pyramid studs. The woman's face is carved from a white band in the stone, which contrasts beautifully with the glowing orange band that forms the background. Her curling hair and the frothy ruffles of her gown are exquisitely rendered. The figure has the three dimensional quality you want in a high-quality antique cameo. Circa 1870.
