HOB Mexican Modernist Silver & Turquoise Bangle

This dramatic Mexican Modernist sterling silver bangle is spoked with five oval turquoise cabochons. The bracelet itself is a slim silver bar hammered with rectangular dimples. The gorgeous robin's egg blue turquoise is bezel set at intervals to create a star-like shape. The interior is stamped "Mexico", "HOB", and "925". Circa 1980.

In the 20th Century, Mexico drew jewelry artists from all over the world. The main attraction for the designers and studio jewelers was the locally mined supply of materials. Silver and semi-precious gems were abundant and affordable.

Details.....The bangle measures 2.9" in diameter, the silver band is 2mm wide, and the inner circumference is 8.6". The turquoise measures approximately 12mm by 16.5mm.
