Scalloped edges and beautiful openwork create a breathtaking pyramidal square studded with .35tcw of diamonds. Three levels of decorative 14k white gold rise from a slim band. Open circles decorate the base allowing light to flood the levels above. The bottom-most layer is a scalloped square, with diamond-set corners each showcased in a milgrained openwork teardrop. The second level utilizes open space to great effect, creating an 8-petaled flower. Each delicate petal is diamond-set and embellished with a fine milgrain engraved detail. The topmost level holds a single darling diamond, set in a double-edged square. More milgrain engraving adorns the square's edges. Somehow this highly detailed layered top retains an easy-to-wear low profile. Detailed and Darling. Circa 1940.
