This double strand of creamy white pearls is meticulously hand knotted on white silk. The circular clasp is filigree in the shape of a flower and 14k white gold. The strands nestle perfectly together and feel as good as they look. Circa 1950.

Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.

Details....One strand measures 20" and the other 22" long. The pearls graduate from 5.5mm to 9.3mm. In Excellent Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique Jewels, we consider it a part of the charm.

Item number pg354.
