This amazing mosaic inlay on shell stickpin was made by the important artist Angie Owen. A clams shell is inlaid with turquoise, black jet, and mother of pearl, then set in a sterling silver stickpin. The shell is framed in wire rope work. A marvelous marriage of natural beauty and exquisite craftsmanship. The back of the pin is engraved with the artist's name, "Angie Owen". Circa 1960.

This wonderful style of inlaid shell originates with the Kewa Pueblo, previously known as the Pueblo of Santo Domingo, people of New Mexico. Angie Owen comes from a family of distinguished jewelry makers. In the 1960s Owen revived the traditional art of mosaic inlay on shell.

Details.....The stickpin is 2.66" long. The top measures 0.66" by 0.90". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
