A pâte de verre scarab is set in an elaborate 14k gold ring. The Gothic Revival prongs resemble a fleur de lis shape. The combination of Egyptian Revival and Gothic Revival styles in one piece is interesting and unusual. This special ring is beautiful, with such a dramatic color. Circa 1900.

Pâte de verre is a form of art glass created by crushing glass and applying it to a mold which allows for the creation of intricate and unique color patterns. It was particularly useful in giving glass the look of gem stones. Pâte de verre was quite expensive and popular in jewels at the turn of the 20th century.

Details.....Currently a size 7. The ring may be sized up or down two sizes free of charge. Please contact us if you need this ring sized more than two sizes, it may be possible and will have a small fee. The top of the ring measures 15.3mm by 11.2mm. The back of the band is 3.4mm wide. In Very Good vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of the charm.
