Phyllis Sklar Modernist Bramble Bangle

Modernist artist Phyllis Sklar designed this incredible sterling silver bangle bracelet, capturing the organic lines of twisted bramble. The curvaceous and sinuous lines of this bangle remind us of the Art Nouveau aesthetic, but the bold and industrial feel of the piece is a hallmark of Mid Century design. Sklar is an American jeweler and painter who launched her career in Greenwich Village in 1955. This piece is signed by the artist. Circa 1960.
