Romantic Rose Earrings in Silver & Marcasites

Romantic rose earrings, beautifully cast in sterling silver and spangled with glittering marcasites. The vintage roses are engraved with fine detail, and the marcasites enhance their graceful forms. The ear wires are modern sterling silver lever backs. The back of the earrings are marked "Sterling" and stamped with a mark that resembles a heart with an arrow through it. Circa 1930.

Marcasite is a soft greyish/silver mineral that gained popularity in the late 19th Century and became one of the most popular gems of the Art Deco era. Marcasites are especially lovely in silver where their dark sparkle plays nicely with the metal.

Details.....These earrings have a 1.75" drop from the earlobe and the roses measure 1.16" by 0.68". In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on antique and vintage jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
