Romantic Silver Filigree Camphor Glass Necklace

The romantic side of Art Deco. A delicate necklace of camphor glass in lacy sterling silver filigree.The panel of ribbed and frosted camphor glass sits in an exquisite frame of silver flowers. An oval of pink glass ornaments the center of the camphor glass, and the pendant is studded with glittering rhinestones. The pendant hangs from a fancy sterling filigreed chain. Circa 1920.

Camphor glass was developed in the 1920s with the purpose of being used in the place of more expensive rock crystal that was very popular at the time. Camphor glass is made by treating clear glass with hydrofluoric acid vapors to achieve the signature frosted finish.   

Details.....The necklace has a wearable length of 16.5". The pendant measures 1.80" long by 0.92" wide. In Very Good Vintage Condition. You should always expect some wear on your vintage and antique jewels, we consider it part of their charm.
