Sterling Silver Art Deco Unicorn Pocket Watch

This handsome Unicorn pocket watch has great Art Deco styling. The open faced, sterling silver case is smooth and polished around the edges. The back is incised with what appears to be the badge of the Order of the Garter on a machine engraved field, with a blank shield. Its dial and subdial are painted with stylized Arabic numerals. The face is marked "Unicorn Prima." The 15 jewel movement is signed "Unicorn." The inside of the case is marked for sterling silver, stamped "RWC.Ltd" for the Rolex Watch Company, and bears many watchmakers' service marks. This is a very appealing little pocket watch that has clearly enjoyed an interesting past. Circa 1920.

Unicorn watches were made by the Rolex Watch Company in the 1920s and 1930s.
