Stone & Gold Pendant Carved with Scholar

This vintage pendant is carved on one side with a wise old scholar seated under cloud formations, and a series of Chinese characters on the other. The rectangular stone plaque has the wonderful waxy color and texture of mutton fat jade. The pendant is crowned with 14k gold leaves and a bale. Such an interesting piece.
