This nicely matched long strand of beautifully lustrous pearls is hand knotted on white silk. Finished perfectly with a 14k yellow gold ball clasp the same size as the pearls. This is that perfect strand of pearls to add to your jewelry wardrobe. Circa 1960.
Pearls were first cultured in 1893 by Mikimoto. Cultured pearls are created by adding an irritant, such as a grain of sand or small bead, to a pearl oyster to encourage it to cover the irritant in nacre, thus creating a pearl.
