This antique band is an unusual form of the traditional claddagh ring. The band is cast in luxe 18ct gold sculpted and pierced to depict a heart held in two hands. The heart is studded with a pretty little diamond, set in an incised eight-rayed star. A romantic motif, ideal for a precious commitment ring. This band bears the hallmarks for England, Birmingham, 18ct, and 1912-13.

The Claddagh ring is a traditional Irish engagement or wedding ring. A form of the ancient fede ring, it bears the motif of a crowned heart held in two hands which represents love, loyalty, and friendship. The ring was first produced in the 17th Century at the Irish fishing village of Claddagh in Galway.

Details.....Currently a size 7.5. This ring may be sized up or down two sizes free of charge. The band measures 6.6mm wide at the front and tapers to 1.7mm at the back.
