From our sweet and wonderful collection of Victorian Mourning jewelry comes this enameled mourning locket.

A classic Victorian Mourning design in black and white enamel decorates the front of this piece, an urn under a Weeping Willow, with the simple phrase "In Memory of". In the back of the locket is a sweetly done floral design in hair and pearls. The Victorians held great meaning in symbolism and that is reflected in the use of colors and symbols in their mourning pieces. The weeping willow shows sadness at the loss, the white urn shows this was the loss of an innocent, a child or very young woman, and the pearls among the hair design represent tears. This is a wonderful item to add to your collection.
