I have found one true heart...that is the meaning of ivy according to the Language of Flowers. For the romantic Victorians, a bouquet of flowers or a jewel engraved with a floral or leaf motif was more than just a beautiful gift, it was a message rich with underlying meaning. In this subtle language ivy symbolizes fidelity in marriage. Such a lovely sentiment.

This wonderful sterling silver brooch has a panel of hand engraved ivy leaves at the center, with an ornate frame of engraved detail. It has the elaborate architectural lines of Grand Period Victorian jewels. What a delightful anniversary gift. The back of the brooch has English hallmarks for Birmingham, sterling, and the years 1888-89.

Details.....The brooch measures 1.83" by 0.80". In Very Good Antique condition. You should always expect some wear on vintage and antique pieces, we consider it part of the charm.

Item number pg369.
