Victorian Nautical Locket Engraved with Sail Boat

This late Victorian locket is engraved with a ship at sea. Seagulls circle the sails. The rosy gold fill locket wears its history, but the slightly distressed finish adds to the charm. A sailor's life isn't an easy one! The back is engraved with a plaid pattern. The locket's compartment would be ideal for holding a lock of hair or other small personal token. Circa 1880.

From the Married Chains Collection by Ancient Influences. All of the ingredients in this necklace are recycled and vintage. I love using vintage findings, and am thrilled by the discovery of just the right split ring or hook for a piece.
