This unusual locket is a dream for anyone who loves horses. The front and back of this silver locket depicts a horse's head framed in a horseshoe. The horse is so sensitively rendered in black niello enamel with engraved details. The locket opens and closes well. The interior has the original frames and is lined with bright yellow. A wonderful example of the Turn of the 20th Century passion for sport and equestrian motifs. Circa 1900.
