This emerald is radiant, an unusual octagonal step cut with a true, fresh green color. The gorgeous .66ct gemstone is center set, held in four prongs. Four brilliant cut accent diamonds embellish the pinched shoulders; two are prong set, while the other two are bezel set. The ring's low profile and gracefully tapered body is crafted in palladium, an icy white metal that enhances the pure tones of the gems. During World War II, platinum and the alloys used in white gold were reserved for the war effort. As a result, palladium, a platinum group metal, came to be used in jewelry. When we find a jewel marked for palladium, it typically dates the piece to the first half of the 1940s.
This ring comes with an insurance replacement cost appraisal by an independent gem lab. The appraised value is $3750.
